Karen Robbins - President and Founding Board Member
Karen was born on December 11, 1962 in Palm Springs, California. She was raised in Cathedral City, and graduated from Palm Springs High School in 1981. She married Steve on October 26, 1985, together they had three daughters: Ashley Nichole (1986), Kristyn Elizabeth (1989), and Kirklyn Taylor (1995). Karen enjoys spending time with her family and lovin’ on her grandkids.
Michelle Sierra-Secretary and Founding Board Member
Michelle was born on October 20, 1989 in Palm Springs, California. She was raised in La Quinta, where she graduated from high school in 2007. Michelle went on to attend College of the Desert, where she earned an AA in Liberal Arts in 2010, and transferred to California State University San Bernardino, where she completed her Bachelors of Arts in Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Minor in Finance in 2013, and became an Enrolled Agent in 2018. She now works as a Senior Accountant at Osborne Rincon CPA’s in La Quinta. Michelle married her long time boyfriend, Juan, on September 26, 2014. They welcomed their Daughter, Kaelee, on September 10, 2016 and their son Troy on July 26, 2020.
Corry Hunter-Treasurer and Founding Board Member
Corry was born on September 4, 1981 in Fresno, California. He was raised in: Fresno (California), Parker (Arizona), and La Quinta (California). He graduated from La Quinta High School in 1999, and Joined the Army immediately after where he spent the next 5 years. After being discharged from the Army he attended College of the Desert, before transfering to the University of Southern California, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting in 2007. He now works as the Chief Financial Officer at Walter Clark Legal Group in Rancho Mirage. He married his wife (and fellow board member) Kristyn, on September 10, 2011. They have three children, Brock (2012), Raegan (2014), and Wyatt (2017). When Corry is not working on taxes, he enjoys spending time with his family out on the lake, and in the desert in his Jeep.
Ashley Robbins-Founding Board Member
Ashley was born on October 3, 1986 in Palm Springs, California. She is the first born daughter of Steve and Karen (Board President and Founding Board Member). She was raised in La Quinta, and graduated from La Quinta High School in 2004. Her Son, Rhys was born March 4, 2007, and her daughter Ellie was born on March 11, 2021. In her free time she enjoys focusing on her health and fitness by working out at crossfit.
Kristyn Robbins Hunter-Founding Board Member
Kristyn was born on October 23, 1989 in Palm Springs, California. She is the daughter of Steve and Karen (Board President and Founding Board Member). She was raised in La Quinta, where she graduated from high school in 2007. Upon finishing high school she began at College of the Desert, then transferred to California State University San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History, in 2007, and attended California Baptist University where she graduated with a Masters of Education in 2020. She teaches 5th grade in Desert Sands Unified School District. Kristyn married Corry (Treasurer and Founding Board Member) on September 10, 2011. They have three kids, Brock, September 21, 2012, Raegan, January 12, 2104, and Wyatt, April 8, 2017. Kristyn enjoys making memories with her family in the pool, on the lake, and at the beach.
Kirklyn Robbins-Founding Board Member
Kirklyn was born July 22, 1995 in Rancho Mirage, California. She is the daughter of Steve and Karen (Board President and Founding Board Member). Kirklyn was raised in La Quinta, where she graduated from high school in 2013. Kirklyn attended California State University San Bernardino where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies in 2020. She is currently working on her teaching credentials. Kirklyn enjoys country music and floating on the lake.
Lorraine Garcia-Board Member
Lorraine grew up in the Coachella Valley and has a passion for helping local students achieve their educational goals. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from California State University San Bernardino. Lorraine is a Communication Specialist for the Coachella Valley Water District and serves on the Association of California Water Agencies Communication Committee where she helps other agencies with best practices in public outreach and communication. She enjoys traveling, yoga, reading, hiking and being outdoors.
